BLASTN: DNA versus DNA.

BLASTP: This is the same as our default BLAST: protein versus protein.

BLASTX: query with DNA against a protein database (DNA is translated into protein first...).

TBLASTN: protein is run against a DNA database (the DNA database is translated into protein first...).

TBLASTX: And finally, translated DNA against translated DNA.
