DSSP distribution summary

All details of the distribution (conditions) for DSSP have been explained in the main body of these www pages. This table provides merely a quick summary of the executables, the database files, and the means of access to those.

DSSP files

You can obtain access to DSSP files or DSSP-derived files in many different ways:

MRS is a search engine for many biologically relevant databases, including DSSP
PDBfinder entries contain DSSP information in a simplified form.
FTP access. (
Be aware that this is very slow. If you need just one file you better use a complete command like:

DSSPold

Be aware that we will no longer maintain DSSPold. We just leave is available for people who need if for patent disputes or science historical reasons (After all, there aren't that many programs that are still used thousands of times every single day thirty years after they were written).
