Template Structure Check
Introduction
A set of WHAT IF checks will be run on the template structure.
Methods
Modelling proteins by homology is becoming a routine technique and
many people rely on black-box like WWW based modelling servers as
their only source of structural information. The fully automatic
Swiss-Model
server is a good example.
The server listed above is less automatic, and therefore more aimed
at the experienced modeler.
However the model is made, one needs to get an impression about the
quality of the template and the quality of the model. This server
checks the template structure for you, the next server is meant for
the model. The difference is that in the model server several of
the typical Xray checks (symmetry contacts; B-factors) are switched of
whereas they are switched on in this server.
If your template is a standard PDB file, you can find the check
report in the PDBREPORT
database of structure validation reports.
